We are currently supporting A Rocha Ghana on the #SaveAtewa campaign. This seeks to prevent the Government of Ghana (GoG) from mining bauxite at the Atewa forest range, as part of a US$2 billion barter deal with the Chinese government. Atewa is a world-renowned forest reserve, which serves as the source of drinking water for about 5 million Ghanaians and has an extensively rich biodiversity.
In December 2020, we supported the Atewa campaign by launching #VoteAtewa as part of ‘21 Days of Atewa Action’, a 3-week campaign that raised awareness on Atewa Forest among the Ghanaian public.
