GYEM partners SAS4SD in a 2-year ‘Green Clubs in Schools’ project

We are pleased to officially announce our partnership with swissuniversities Science Action in Schools for Sustainable Development (SAS4SD) Consortia for Education and Research. This partnership will see Ghana Youth Environmental Movement (GYEM) working with our partners on the Green Clubs in Schools (GCS) project in 2 Senior High Schools in Ghana; St. Monica’s SHS (Mampong) and Opoku Ware School (Kumasi).

The GCS project will engage secondary school students in after-school Green Clubs, facilitated by teachers trained with a multi-stakeholder validated GCS curriculum and relevant learning materials. Using an action-based learning approach, the program will educate secondary school students on context-specific topics related to daily environmental challenges encountered in their communities. It will also empower them with entrepreneurial skills to initiate student-led practical field activities and projects, aimed at addressing the broad range of environmental challenges connected to the impacts of climate change.
